Childhood
There is very little known about Machiavelli's ordinary childhood. Niccololo di Bernardo dei Machiavelli was born in Florence, Italy on May 3, 1469. He was the son of Bartolomea di Stefano and Bernardo de Niccolo Machiavell. Italy was divided into four rivaling cities in 1469, so it was not the safest of times. Fortunately, he was born into a wealthy family and grew up with his two sisters and one brother. Although 1469 was a dangerous time, Machiavelli was nurtured in the comfort of his family.
Adulthood
Machiavelli had a fascinating adulthood. By 1495, he was still flourishing in Florence, Italy, his home town. At that moment, the Medici family was in power, but not much later came their fall. Machiavelli was immediately chosen as the new chancellor and kept that government position for thirteen years. Then, the Medici family rose back into power and had Machiavelli ejected from the government. They tortured him and had him arrested for treason, which is a crime for betraying one's country or trying to take over the government. He stayed in jail for about four years until finally being released. Later, Machiavelli married Marietta Corsini and they had four sons and two daughters. Throughout his adulthood, Machiavelli also did something unforgettable. He wrote many novels along with a few poems and plays. Two of his most notable books, The Prince and Discourses on Livy, were both published in 1513. The Prince is Machiavelli's most well known book and is still commonly read today. It gives advice on how to run a government. Niccolo Machiavelli was focused on power and expressed that in many different ways, generally in his writing. On June 10, 1527, Machiavelli fell into a deep sickness. He died on June 21 in his hometown. His grave is at Santa Croce church in Florence, Italy. With a very interesting adulthood, Machiavelli will never be forgotten.

Achievements
Niccolo Machiavelli made many fascinating accomplishments particularly in the field of literature. He persisted in writing novels, but every once in a while he wrote a few plays and poems. In his most famous novel, The Prince, Machiavelli writes about matters under the topic of government. This twenty-four chapter fiction book gives advice to the regime on how they should run their kingdoms and how they should act. Something abnormal about The Prince was that it was dedicated to Lorenzino II de Medici, whose family had previously arrested Maciavelli. Not much after Machiavelli was jailed, he and the Medici family began to mend their hate for each other. One common message that Machiavelli was not only trying to express in his writing but in many other ways was that it does not matter what methods you use, just get things done. Some other well known books written by Niccolo Machiavelli are Florentine Histories, which tells about various years of Machiavelli's life, Discourses on Livy, which is about the history of politics and their philosophy, and The Art of War, which is written in Socratic dialogue. Machiavelli was an extremely successful person in his time.
